The CD4MCU American Standard Flange Ball Valve is a high-strength, duplex stainless steel solution specifically engineered for corrosive and abrasive service. By utilizing CD4MCU (Cast Duplex Stainless Steel) and adhering to ASME/ANSI standards, this valve provides a unique combination of mechanical toughness and elite resistance to stress corrosion cracking and pitting.
Description
CD4MCU (ASTM A890 Grade 1A / UNS J93370) is a ferritic-austenitic duplex stainless steel that offers significant performance upgrades over 300-series stainless steels:
- Superior Hardness: Provides much higher resistance to erosion and abrasion than 316 stainless steel, making it ideal for slurries.
- Corrosion Resilience: Excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking (SCC) in chloride-rich environments.
- Mechanical Strength: Offers high yield strength and good ductility, allowing the valve to withstand high-pressure shocks and thermal cycling.
- Acid Handling: Particularly effective in handling nitric, sulfuric, and phosphoric acids.
Features
- ANSI/ASME Compliance: Manufactured to ASME B16.34 and ANSI B16.5 standards, ensuring global interchangeability and proven pressure-containing integrity.
- Full Port Design: Ensures the valve has the same internal diameter as the pipe, reducing turbulence and preventing the accumulation of abrasive solids.
- Blow-out Proof Stem: Engineered for safety, the stem is bottom-entry to prevent it from being ejected by line pressure.
- Precision Sealing: Available with RPTFE or PEEK soft seats for bubble-tight shut-off, or metal-to-metal seats for abrasive slurry applications.
