Key Design & Functionality

  • Operational Mechanism: The primary closure component is the gate (disc), which moves perpendicular to the flow of the fluid.
  • On/Off Service: These valves are engineered exclusively for fully open or fully closed positions. They are not intended for flow adjustment or throttling, which ensures a longer service life by preventing seat erosion.
  • Precision Sealing: The gate features two high-precision sealing faces with a standard 3° wedge angle, providing a superior, leak-proof seal under high pressure.

Disc Variations:

  • Rigid Disc (Solid Wedge): The disc is manufactured as a single, solid unit. This design is valued for its simplicity and high structural strength in general applications.
  • Elastic Ram (Flexible Wedge): This disc is engineered to allow for micro-deformation. This flexibility allows the wedge to seat more effectively, compensating for minor deviations in the sealing surface angle caused by thermal expansion or manufacturing tolerances.
