5A Super Duplex American Standard Check Valve is a high-performance safety component engineered for extreme industrial environments. Utilizing 5A Super Duplex Stainless Steel (CE3MN) and designed in full accordance with API 594 or API 6D, this valve provides elite protection against backflow in high-pressure, high-chloride, and highly corrosive piping systems.
Description
5A (ASTM A890 Grade 5A / CE3MN) is a premier alloy specifically designed for applications where standard stainless steels fail:
- SCC Immunity: The balanced dual-phase microstructure ensures the valve is virtually immune to chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking (SCC), making it essential for offshore and subsea service.
- Extreme Corrosion Resistance: With a high PREN (Pitting Resistance Equivalent Number) greater than or equal to 40, 5A provides maximum resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in high-temperature seawater and acidic brine.
- Superior Mechanical Strength: Offers significantly higher yield strength than standard duplex (4A) or austenitic steels, allowing the valve to withstand severe pressure surges and mechanical fatigue.
Features
- Automatic Fluid-Driven Operation: The valve relies solely on the flow of the medium to open and close. It automatically prevents the backflow of liquids or gases, protecting pumps, drive motors, and upstream equipment from reverse-rotation damage.
- American Standard Compliance: Designed and manufactured to meet API 6D / API 594 (design), ASME B16.10 (face-to-face), and ASME B16.5 (flange) specifications. This ensures full technical compatibility with international petrochemical and power industry projects.
- Stellite Sealing Surfaces: The seat and disc sealing faces are typically built up with cobalt-based alloy (Stellite) welding. This creates a surface with exceptional wear resistance and anti-abrasion performance, ensuring a “bubble-tight” seal over a long service life.
- Advanced Structural Integrity: Whether designed as a dual-plate wafer, swing, or lift type, the 5A check valve features a robust body construction capable of handling various pressures, temperatures, and aggressive medium conditions.
